Wikibase Use Cases
We receive a lot of feedback from Wikibase users about the challenges they faced when starting their Wikibase project. We’re sharing these user experiences and the resulting insights, in the form of the case studies below, in order to help those who are just beginning their Wikibase journey.
BERD@NFDI
The Aktienführer (AKF) Knowledge Graph is free and open. It contains structured (meta)data for the German listed stock companies from the Hoppenstedt-Aktienführer from 1956 to 2018. The metadata includes official company names with time ranges, company identifiers (ISIN and WKN) and Aktienführer IDs.

Beyond Notability
This project brings together academic researchers with expertise in intellectual and social history, information science and digital humanities in partnership with the Society of Antiquaries of London in order to recover the broad landscape of women’s work in archaeology, history, and heritage and their intellectual networks in 19th and 20th-century Britain via detailed investigation of two significant cultural-institutional archives.
WikiFur
WikiFur is the international encyclopedia of furry fandom – run by fans of anthropomorphic animals in art, stories and popular culture. Like Wikipedia, we use MediaWiki, but act more as a primary or secondary source, trusting editors with knowledge of the events, works, terms and people covered.
Wikibase.world
Wikibase World is a collaborative database of the Wikibase ecosystem, including individual Wikibase instances, itself running on Wikibase. By mapping Wikibases together based on the records they have in common, we make our individual databases interoperable with each other, building a greater open data ecosystem.
